Only In Paris

One day I'll
just pack up and leave,
put all my money in thick rolls,
in my socks,
move to a shotgun apartment
in Paris.
Only sleep when I'm tired only
eat when I'm hungry
never shave,
except for my head,
wash my clothes in the sink.
I will be insane,
I will do what I can
no one will know
if I'm a woman
or a man.
I will not
take any shit
I will be happy
I will be clean and
my heart will be clean and
my mind will be clean
of all past grieviances.
And in the silver rays of moonlight,
I will write
until amnesia forces me to forget,
all slights towards me,
all pain.
Then I will come back here and,
live for all time,
drink expensive wine,
becoming rich off my brilliance
and be happy.
