Strange Beauty

Drink your strange beauty,
wild hair, wild eyes,
the forbidden nectar, sweet like you
tracing your palm with my lips.
My pupils slowly growing smaller as
my high abates into the stale air.

It's remarkable how easy it is
when I don't try.
It's amazing how simple it is
when I don't care.
The apathy sucks you in when I'm aloof.

We are one in the same,
the stronger, the wiser, on that elusive
moral higher ground.
I draw you in and wrap you
around yourself.
Strange beauty staring back at me
tell me I'm beautiful,
and tonight,
I am yours.
